for the Corporation Commission.

Whether serving as Mayor in her hometown of Tolleson, fighting for a better quality of life for underserved communities as a State Senator, or teaching our youth in the Tolleson Elementary School District, Anna Tovar has dedicated her life to improving Arizona communities. She now wants to bring her integrity and experience to the Arizona Corporation Commission where she can fight for accountability and fairness for all Arizona consumers.

Anna is participating as a Clean Elections Candidate because she believes a Corporation Commissioner shouldn’t take money from special interests and the corporate entities they are elected to regulate!

Expand Renewable Energy

It’s not complicated: Arizona is blessed with the most days of sunshine in America. And that’s why we need to continue expanding our use of solar energy, not to mention all forms of renewable energy. We can reduce our carbon emissions, create jobs, deliver reliable and affordable electricity to consumers, and build an energy infrastructure using the latest innovations to accommodate our state’s growing energy needs.

“Expanding renewable energy doesn’t have to be jobs vs. environment. We can increase our
usage of clean energy while creating jobs for the future. In fact, we have to do both.”

— Anna Tovar

A Voice for Arizonans

The primary role of a Corporation Commissioner should be fairly representing Arizona’s utility ratepayers. Everyday Arizonans need commissioners who put their interests first, while also ensuring utilities are able to maintain and expand their infrastructure to serve their customers.

“As a Corporation Commissioner, you have my word that every day I will fight to put Arizonans first.
Every decision I make will be based on one simple question: is it good for our state?”

Restore Trust & Accountability

The Commission has been politicized and is operating from under a cloud of suspicion. If we are to tackle the big issues effectively, be it expanding renewable energy or ensuring energy affordability for EVERY Arizonan, then we need to restore a focus of true public service back to the Commission.

“I will use my experiences - as a legislator, a mayor, a public-school teacher, and perhaps most importantly as a mother of two - to work with all stakeholders in bringing accountability and integrity back to the Commission.”
